After helping the Boston University field hockey team successfully defend its Patriot League title, senior midfielder Sofi Laurito has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Laurito was named the Most Valuable Player of the Patriot League Championship, thanks in large part to her hat trick against Bucknell in the semifinals. She accounted for all of BU's scoring against the Bison, capped by a goal in double overtime to clinch a 3-2 victory.

The Terriers went to to capture the title with a 2-1 triumph over American in the championship game. Laurito helped set up BU's second goal, as a rebound off her shot was sent home by junior Sara Martineau.
