Field Hockey Finishes 13th in NCAA RPI
December 3, 2015 | Field Hockey
The Boston University field hockey team finished its 2015 season ranked 13th in the NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).
The Terriers, who claimed the Patriot League title for the second consecutive year, put together a 15-7 record while facing one of the toughest schedules in the country. BU was one of three schools, joining Boston College and Louisville, that faced all four teams that advanced to the NCAA semifinals.
BU reached the NCAA tournament for the 12th time in program history and posted a 6-1 home victory over Fairfield to open the tournament before falling to eventual national runner-up North Carolina, 4-2.
The Terriers were ranked sixth in RPI amongst non-ACC schools. All seven ACC programs qualified for the NCAA tournament. BU's RPI was better than seven of the nine Big Ten programs and ahead of all the teams in the CAA and Atlantic 10.
This year's Terrier squad produced four NFHCA All-Region selections. The 2015 NFHCA All-America teams will be announced on Monday (Dec. 7).
