BOSTON - The Boston University women’s lacrosse team was named a 2015 Division I Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), announced Monday.
The Terriers achieved this honor by maintaining a team grade point average above a 3.0 during the 2014-15 school year. Eight terriers aided in the attainment of this honor as Patriot League Honor Roll members, which is awarded to student-athletes who earn a GPA of 3.20 or higher while in-season. In addition, three Terriers went above and beyond in their academic achievements helping to secure their team a spot among the 86 Division I Academic Honor Squads.
Sophomore Taylor Hardison contributed to her team’s academic success after being named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. She earned one of the 12 spots and was one of only three underclassmen selected. Hardison maintained a 3.75 GPA as a Business Administration and Management major.
Also aiding in the BU team’s academic success was senior Elizabeth Kelley (Business Administration) and sophomore Brynne Yarranton (Health Studies). Both Terriers were two of just 14 Patriot League student-athletes to earn a 4.0 GPA last semester in their respective majors.
