BOSTON - The No. 13 Boston University field hockey team (10-4) will wrap up its non-conference schedule on Sunday (Oct. 23) when it hosts defending national champion and third-ranked Syracuse (12-2). Sunday's contest starts at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network.
The first 100 fans will receive a BU Field Hockey t-shirt or BU phone pocket while supplies last.
While this game was scheduled to be the final home contest of the regular season, that won't be the case, as the Terriers' game with Holy Cross on Friday was suspended in the 42nd minute due to lightning with BU holding a 2-1 lead. The remainder of the contest will be played on Tuesday (Oct. 25) at 4 p.m.Syracuse is playing for the first time in eight days and most recently dropped a 1-0 overtime contest at Virginia, snapping a five-game win streak. The Orange is a perfect 8-0 in non-conference play this season.
The Terriers have won their past three contests with the past two coming via shutout. BU is 6-2 thus far this season at New Balance Field.
In 16 all-time meetings with Syracuse, BU is 5-11. The Orange has won the past five meetings and the Terriers' last triumph in the series came in 1992.

Fellow Netherlands native Roos Weers, a sophomore, is right behind with 22 points on eight goals and six assists. Graduate student Elaine Carey (7g, 7a) and senior Emma Lamison (7g, 6a) have added 21 and 20 points, respectively.
