
Cassera, Landsman Selected to Participate in NFHCA Senior Game

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Senior tri-captains Amanda Cassera and Ellie Landsman have been selected to participate in the 2016 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Old Dominion University.
The two Terriers were among 50 student-athletes who were chosen as either participants or alternates for the game, which takes places the day in between the NCAA semifinals and championship.
Cassera enters the postseason as the Terriers' top scorer this fall with 22 points on nine goals and four assists. She has averaged over a point per game as a Terrier and has 87 points (38g, 11a), which ranks sixth all-time in program history.
One of the top defensive midfielders in the nation, Landsman has backed up her billing as the Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, helping the Terriers rank seventh in the nation with a 1.20 goals-against average.
This gives the Terriers 13 players in the past 10 seasons who have earn a spot on a Senior Game roster, joining Valentina Cerda Eimbcke (2014), Ysi Schieb (2013), Jess Maroney (2012), Nicole van Oosterom (2012), Kate Murphy (2011), Allie Dolce (2010), Amanda Smith (2010), Nikki Lloyd (2009), Sarah Shute (2007) and Pam Spuehler (2007).
