Terriers Clinch Top-4 Seed In PL Tournament
April 25, 2016 | Women's Lacrosse
After winning two games last week against Holy Cross and Army West Point, the Boston University women's lacrosse team has secured a top-four seeding in the Patriot League Tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on May 3 against an opponent to be determined.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. on Nickerson Field and will be aired live on the Patriot League Network.
With an 8-0 record so far in conference play, Loyola Maryland has secured the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will host the semifinal and championship rounds on May 6 and 8. Navy's 6-2 record earned the Midshipmen a bye in the quarterfinal round and the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
BU will finish as either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed, depending on the result of the final games of the regular season. The rest of the field will be comprised of Colgate, Bucknell and Lehigh but seeding will not be final until Saturday, April 30.
Lehigh secures the other quarterfinal home game with a win against Bucknell on Friday but a loss would put Colgate into the No. 4 seed and would be the site of a first-round contest.
Should Lehigh win, BU would be the No. 4 seed and would host No. 5 seed Colgate. Should Lehigh lose, the Terriers would become the No. 3 seed and host either Lehigh or Bucknell, depending on the result of Colgate's game on Saturday.
