Bach, Leslie Named to Canada Development Team
August 15, 2016 | Women's Ice Hockey
CALGARY, Alta. - Juniors Victoria Bach and Rebecca Leslie of the Boston University women's ice hockey team were named to Hockey Canada's National Development Team on Sunday.
This is the second straight year that Bach and Leslie have been named to Canada's Under-22 team. The selections came after participation at the Hockey Canada National Teams' Summer Showcase. Like in 2015, the duo will skate in a three-game series against the United States that begins on Aug. 17 in Calgary. The Terriers were the only Hockey East school with two representatives on the 23-player squad.
Following the series, Hockey Canada scouts, along with the team's coaching staff, will continue to evaluate players with their club teams during the 2016-17 season, in preparation for selecting the Canadian team that will compete at the 2017 Nations Cup in Germany next January.
