Both teams are 7-5 on the year and coming off conference home wins as Northeastern posted a convincing 8-1 victory over Hofstra on Friday and the Terriers topped No. 24 American, 2-1, on Saturday to move into sole possession of first place in the Patriot League standings.
Northeastern started the year at the Terrier Classic but the rivals did not meet. When the teams faced off last season, senior Taylor Blood scored in overtime to lift BU to a 2-1 home victory and close the Huskies' lead in the all-time series to 27-22. Ten of past 12 meetings have been decided by a single goal.
Redshirt senior Jamie Bartucca leads Northeastern in points (30) and goals (12) and junior June Curry-Lindahl has 23 points on eight goals and a team-best seven assists. Freshman Camille O'Conor (5-4--14), junior Laura MacLachlan (5-3--13) and redshirt junior Kellie Stigas (5g) are the other Huskies in double figures.
Freshman Ailsa Connolly continues to pace the Terriers' offensive attack with seven goals. Senior co-captain Grace Boston has 10 points on four goals and two assists while a trio of others have seven points apiece. In that group is senior co-captain Kali Shumock, who leads all Patriot League players in assists per game (.583).
The Terrier defense is allowing exactly two goals per game with junior Kathleen Keegan (5-2, 1.82, .667) and freshman Millie Baker (2-3, 2.15, .576) splitting time in goal.
