BOSTON – Opening 2018 at Case Gym, the Boston University women's basketball team will look for its second straight victory in Patriot League play as it welcomes Bucknell on Tuesday, Jan. 2 for a 2 p.m. tilt. BU students and kids 8th grade and below are eligible to receive free admission.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Hitting the road for its Patriot League opener, BU staved off Army West Point, 60-59, Friday afternoon at Christl Arena.Nia Irving recorded her second straight double-double with 14 rebounds to go with a season-high 22 points, including the go-ahead basket with 11.8 seconds left.
  • Irving tallied her second straight double-double and has four double-doubles over the last 10 games.
  • Payton Hauck set a new career-high and led all scorers with 23 points on an efficient 9-for-13 shooting clip.
  • Hauck and Irving combined for 22 of BU's 28 points in the first half and 45 total.
  • Katie Nelson matched a season-high with eight assists.

LEADING THE PACK

  • Nia Irving has led the Terriers in both scoring and rebounding in four of the last six games.
  • During that stretch, she has averaged 15.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
  • Additionally, she has shot at least .500 percent form the floor in four of the last six outings.
  • Irving has done most of her damage in the first half, as she has scored 59 of her last 89 points in the first half on 58.6 percent (27-of-46) shooting.

BACK ON TRACK

  • Payton Hauck exploded for a career-high 23 points at Army on Friday, and tallied three assists and three steals apiece.
  • After notching double-digit scoring figures in the opening four games, Hauck was limited to single digit scoring the next six games until breaking out against the Black Knights.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL

  • Bucknell will play its fifth straight road game as enters Tuesday's matchup riding a three-game losing streak.
  • The Bison dropped a 68-58 decision at American in their conference opener on Friday.
  • Kate Walker posted a team-high 23 points and matched Tessa Brugler with eight rebounds.
  • Kaitlyn Slagus, the 2016 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, leads the team with 11.9 points per game, while Kyi English follows with an 11.8 scoring clip.
  • Bucknell has amassed a mark of 33-3 in conference play over the last two seasons and has claimed at least a share of the last two regular season Patriot League titles.
  • Two-time defending Patriot League Coach of the Year Aaron Rouseel has been a proven winner, notching a career record of 268-113 and is 106-62 during his six seasons at the helm of the Bison.
