November 28, 2018 | Women's Ice Hockey
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was invited to the 2018 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp, which will take place Dec. 17-21 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, as announced on Wednesday.
The annual training camp serves as an opportunity to help the top players prepare for upcoming international events, including the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship.
Compher is off to an impressive start to her 2018-19 season with the Terriers. She leads the squad with 19 points thanks to seven goals and a team-high 12 assists. Compher is currently on a nine-game point streak during which she has collected six goals and 11 assists. She owns the longest active assist streak in the nation as well as the third longest active point streak in the NCAA. Compher is a plus-14 this season, including a plus-11 rating over the last six tilts, and she has recorded at least two points in six of the Terriers' 12 games this year.
The Northbrook, Illinois, native most recently took part in the 2018 U.S. Women's National Team Evaluation Camp in September. That invite came after she skated for the U.S. Under-22 Women's Select Team in a three-game series against Canada in August, which the Americans swept.
