2018 NCAA Bracket | Terriers Repeat as PL Champs
BU Game Notes
BOSTON - After claiming its fourth Patriot League Tournament title in five years, the No. 24 Boston University field hockey team will kick off its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance by hosting MAC champion and 25th-ranked Miami in an opening-round game on Wednesday, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. Wednesday's game will start at noon.
Ticket prices for Wednesday's game are $5 for adults and $3 for youth/students. BU students will get in for free with their student ID.
The winner of the BU/Miami game will head to Durham, N.C., to take on fourth-seeded Duke on Friday (Nov. 9) at noon in a first-round match-up. Iowa and Wake Forest are the other two teams in the Durham regional.
The Terriers also hosted NCAA Opening Round games in their two most recent NCAA appearances in 2017 and 2015, earning a win over Fairfield each time.
BU and Miami met earlier this season in a neutral-site contest at Northwestern. The Terriers claimed a 2-1 victory thanks to a late goal by sophomore Petra Hall to improve to 5-0 all-time against the RedHawks, having also claimed victories in 2017, 2016, 2013 and 2007.
Earlier on Sunday, the Terriers successfully defended their 2017 Patriot League title with a 2-1 triumph over American at New Balance Field.
