Terriers Return to Walter Brown Arena on Sunday for Exhibition to Benefit Travis Roy Foundation
December 27, 2019 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - The Boston University men's ice hockey will return to action on Sunday (Dec. 29) when it hosts Concordia University at Walter Brown Arena. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Travis Roy Foundation. Game time is 5 p.m.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online, at the Agganis Arena box office or at the game on Sunday.
Former BU player Travis Roy and his foundation have raised more than $10 million dollars over the years, enhancing the life of individuals with spinal cord injuries and their families by providing adaptive equipment in addition to funding research in search of a cure. Donations to the TRF can be made at the game.
Sunday marks the Terriers' first game back at Walter Brown Arena in five years as the U.S. World Junior squad – with then-BU freshman Jack Eichel – earned a 5-2 win in an exhibition against BU on Dec. 19, 2019.
Concordia, which is located in Montreal, plays in the Ontario University Athletics conference and entered the holiday break in the middle of the pack with a record of 6-7-3 (W-L-OTL).
Both of the previous meetings with Concordia also took place in season-opening exhibitions at Walter Brown Arena. The Terriers last faced the Stingers on Oct. 4, 2002, and earned a 2-0 win. BU also hosted Concordia on Oct. 15, 1989, posting an 8-2 victory.
This will be the first of two exhibition contests for the Terriers over the holiday break. The team will visit the U.S. National Under-18 Team next Friday (Jan. 3) before kicking off the second half of its season on Jan. 8 with a home game against Brown.
