Conry, Vervlied Earn All-PL Preseason Team Spots: Terriers Predicted to Finish Third

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - In anticipation of the 2020 women's lacrosse season, Boston University's Kailey Conry and Emily Vervlied were named to the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Additionally, the Terriers were predicted to finish third, its highest preseason ranking since the 2016 campaign.
Conry earned her third straight All-League honor and second straight First Team nod after leading the NCAA in assists per game (3.67) and ranked second in the Patriot League in points per game (5.33) as a junior in 2019. Conry broke her own single-season assists record with 55 assists and handed out at least one helper in all 15 games played. The Needham, Massachusetts native posted a career-high 80 points as a junior and set the program single-game point record with a 13-point outing at Holy Cross. She is 68 points away from breaking the program's all-time points record set by Sarah Dalton '09.
Vervlied earns her first preseason honor after posting a breakout sophomore season and was named to the All-Patriot League squad. Vervlied tripled her goal total from her freshman year (30) and led the team with 28 caused turnovers. She also tied for second on the team in points (39) and ranked third in ground balls (33). In conference games, she amassed 20 goals, 27 points, 22 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.
BU will open its season against Boston College on Wednesday, Feb. 12 against Boston College at 4 p.m.
