Terriers Fall to Harvard, 13-4

BOSTON - Junior Makenzie Irvine tallied two goals and senior Kailey Conry added a goal and an assist, but the Boston University women's lacrosse team fell to Harvard, 13-4, on Wednesday night at Nickerson Field.
After Harvard (2-3) jumped out to a 9-0 halftime lead, BU (3-3) battled back to score four times in the second half and limit the Crimson to just four goals of its own over the final 30 minutes. Senior Maggie Lohrer notched her first goal of the season as part of the second-half effort while freshman Claire Gola added her fourth assist of the season.
Conry tallied her eighth goal of the season and she now has 14 assists on the year while Irvine scored her 13th and 14th goals of the campaign. Senior Bianca Smith made six of the Terriers' seven total saves in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Harvard scored the first 10 goals of the game.
- Irvine notched two straight goals early in the second half to give BU some momentum, with Conry and Gola providing the assists.
- The teams traded goals the rest of the way, with Conry and Lohrer finding the back of the net at 21:57 and 16:01, respectively.
- The Crimson closed the scoring with a goal at 5:25.
- Lohrer, junior Emily Vervlied and sophomore Maddie MacMaster led the Terriers with three ground balls apiece.
- BU totaled 22 ground balls, with Smith tallying two of them in addition to her six saves.
- Lohrer also forced three Crimson turnovers to lead the Terrier defense, with Gola contributing two caused turnovers as well.
- BU will travel to Florida for a matchup with Jacksonville on Monday, March 9.
- Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
