HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless for the first 22 minutes before the Huskies were able to get on the board with two goals before the half.
- Sophia Ugo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before adding another just over three minutes later.
- UConn put together a four-goal third quarter, getting goals from four different players, to build a large lead and kept the BU offense at bay.
- Ugo capped a hat-trick performance early in the fourth quarter before Claire Jandewerth closing the scoring with 11:29 to play
- Freshman Payton Anderson (4) and graduate student Miya Denison (3) combined for seven of BU's 10 shots on the day.
- Junior Caroline Kelly (7 saves) and sophomore Kate Thomason (3) combined for 10 saves in goal for the Terriers.
- Cheyenne Sprecher stopped all four shots she faced for the Huskies and Alena Smargiassi played the final 10:10 to complete the combined shutout.
- The Terriers will return to Patriot League play when they visit Colgate on Saturday (Oct. 16).
- Game time in Hamilton is set for noon.
