Vote Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Christina Vote of the Boston University women's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Vote notched her first two collegiate goals this past weekend. Her first one proved to be the game-winner in the Terriers' 2-1 upset victory over No. 2 Northeastern on Friday night. She then lit the lamp in the Terriers' 3-3 tie with New Hampshire the next day.
A native of Arlington, Mass., Vote is the second Terrier in as many weeks to be selected as the league's Rookie of the Week; goaltender Callie Shanahan earned that honor on Oct. 4.
BU will return to Walter Brown Arena on Friday, Oct. 15, when the Terriers host Merrimack. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
