
Sims, Vervlied Capture Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After leading the Boston University women's lacrosse team to key Patriot League North Division win over Lafayette, Emily Vervlied and Kendall Sims have each earned Patriot League weekly honors, the conference announced Monday.
Vervlied earn her third career Patriot League Midfielder of the Week nod, while Sims collected her second Rookie of the Week award of the season.
Vervlied had a standout game in leading the Terriers to an 18-7 victory over the Leopards on Sunday, stuffing the stat sheet with nine points on three goals and six assists, and added in two ground balls and caused a turnover. Her nine points and six assists set career highs, and her trio of goals marked her third hat trick of the year. The senior midfielder either scored or assisted on BU's first 12 goals and tallied all of her points before halftime.
Sims, also a midfielder, netted her third goal of the season to go with two draw controls, four ground balls and one caused turnover against Lafayette. Her four ground balls were a game high as well as a season high, while her two draw controls matched a season high.
The Terriers will return to action on Sunday, April 11 at Holy Cross for a 1 p.m. start.
