Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team; Eight Terriers Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

BOSTON – For the sixth consecutive year, Boston University women's tennis has claimed Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors with eight student-athletes also receiving ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have at least a 3.50 for the academic year.
The Terriers finished with a 3.00+ GPA for the seventh straight year and ended with a 3.66 GPA. Reigning Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Emily Kim collected her fourth award, while fellow recent graduates Katya Martens, Alex Angyalosy and Mia Wallace earned their third.
Rising senior Shelly Yaloz earned her third award, while recent graduate Lily Burchell claimed her second. Rising junior Erica Di Battista and sophomore Kaitlin Tan were both recognized for the first time.
All eight Terriers were joined on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last week by recent graduate Dani Blaser and rising sophomore Victoria Carlsten.
