Maria Auth Joins Women's Lacrosse Staff

BOSTON - Following a five-year playing career at Penn State, Maria Auth has joined the Boston University women's lacrosse staff, head coach Lauren Morton announced Thursday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Maria to Boston University after an incredible career at Penn State," exclaimed Morton. "Maria is a passionate, caring and hardworking leader and I have no doubt she will make an immediate impact on our program."

Auth finished her career with 226 career points, which ranks seventh all-time in program history, and additionally ranks sixth in career goals (160) and 11th in career assists (66).

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the Boston University women's lacrosse coaching staff," remarked Auth. "I am so excited to start contributing to the success of the program and I can't wait to join the BU family."

The Street, Maryland native led the Nittany Lions in goals (34) and points (46) this past season and was named to both the All-Big Ten Second Team andIWLCA All-Region West/Midwest Second Team. As a junior in 2019, she garnered All-Big Ten First Team honors after leading the team in points (46) and produced 11 multi-point efforts.

Auth earned her B.S. in biobehavioral health and from Penn State in 2020 and will complete her master's in clinical rehabilitation & mental health counseling in 2022.
