Terriers to Welcome Vermont to Agganis Arena for Weekend Series

The Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 100th season this weekend when the Terriers welcome Vermont to Agganis Arena. Puck drop on Friday is set for 7Â p.m., with the teams returning to the ice on Saturday at 4. Friday's game will be televised on NESN+.
A revised fan policy will be in effect for this weekend's games. All guests 12 years and older will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Proof of a negative COVID-19 test will no longer be accepted.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU extended its unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) with its fourth straight win, a 2-1 overtime triumph at UConn on Jan. 14.
- Junior Jay O'Brien was the overtime hero, with classmate Matt Brown also lighting the lamp for the Terriers.
- Junior Domenick Fensore assisted on Brown's first-period strike as part of a terrific three-zone effort that garnered him Hockey East Defender of the Week honors.
- Fensore leads BU and is first among Hockey East blue liners in both points (18) and assists (15).
- O'Brien pushed his point streak to four games and has scored a goal in three straight contests.
- After missing the final three games of the first semester, O'Brien has notched three goals and five assists for eight points since returning to the lineup on Dec. 31.
- Brown has also lit the lamp in each of the last three games, recording four total points in that span.
- Sophomore Drew Commesso owns a 1.46 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage in his six starts during the Terriers' seven-game unbeaten streak.
- BU has now killed 22 straight penalties after its 1-for-1 performance on Friday at UConn.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Terriers and Catamounts have played 87Â times since the 1971-72 season, with BU holding a 53-24-10 (.667) advantage.
- BU is 19-4-3 in the past 26Â meetings, including a two-game sweep of the Catamounts in Vermont last season.
- From 1974-84, the teams shared time in the ECAC, with BU posting a 13-4-1 record against the Catamounts during the span.
- Since the Catamounts joined Hockey East in 2005, the teams have met 46Â times and BU holds a 26-13-7 advantage in those contests.
- Overtime has been necessary in 17 meetings and BU is unbeaten (7-0-10) in those decisions.
CHECKING IN ON THE CATAMOUNTS
- Vermont has lost five straight games, most recently dropping a 4-0 decision at home to No. 12 Northeastern on Tuesday.
- Two of the Catamounts' three wins have been on the road, including their most recent victory, a 1-0 triumph at Maine on Dec. 3.
- Philip Lagunov leads UVM with 12 points thanks to six assists and a team-high six goals.
- Andrew Lucas is second on the squad with 10 points on the strength of two goals and a team-leading eight assists.
- Goaltenders Gabe Carriere and Tyler Harmon have each made 10 appearances for the Catamounts, with both goaltenders posting an identical 2.65 goals-against average.
- Carriere, who has recorded all three UVM victories, owns a .915 save percentage while Harmon has a .901 save percentage.
- Following this weekend's two games, the Terriers will travel to Amherst to face UMass on Tuesday night in a game that will be televised live on NESN.
