Yaloz Claims Patriot League Player of the Week Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After posting a perfect 5-0 record, Boston University women's tennis senior Shelly Yaloz has earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
With the announcement, the Queens, New York, native has now earned five career PL weekly awards. She went 3-0 in singles action and teamed with sophomore Kaitlin Tan, an earlier PL Player of the Week back in Feb., for a pair of doubles victories.
Yaloz started off during the week-long trip to Florida by earning two wins at No. 30 Florida International. She first posted a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles with Tan and then claimed a 7-5, 7-5 singles win at line 5 against FIU's Ines Bekrar.
Following her 6-3, 6-4 win over Duquesne's Natasha Novak at No. 4 singles, Yaloz wrapped up the trip down south at No. 70 Florida Atlantic with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 5 slot against Amber McGinnis. She also teamed with Tan for a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
The Terriers will next face Brown on Saturday (March 19) at 2 p.m. in Manchester, Massachusetts.
