May 12, 2022 | Women's Lacrosse
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Adding to her list of athletic accolades from her standout 2022 campaign, junior Jennifer Barry has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Northeast Region Second Team as a draw specialist, the organization announced on Thursday morning.
Barry earns her first All-Region selection in her collegiate career, and becomes the 28th Terrier all-time to earn a spot on the Second Team. With her distinction, the Terriers have had one student-athlete make the All-Region Second Team on the last six teams, beginning in 2016.
The honor comes after Barry picked up Academic All-Patriot League recognition in 2022. This season, she set the BU single-season and all-time draw control record with 156 draw controls across 17 appearances, leading the Patriot League and ranking third in the nation and fourth with 9.18 per game. The 156 draw controls also mark a Patriot League single-season record as of writing.
In three years, she has racked up 239 career draw controls, surpassing Jill Horka's previous record of 236. Her 7.71 career draw controls per contests is the second-highest active mark, trailing only Duke's Maddie Jenner (9.37).
Outside of the draw, Barry finished the campaign with a career-high 18 goals and 26 points, ranking third on the team in the latter category. Her .563 shot percentage paced the Terriers (minimum 10 shots). The Lake Grove, N.Y. native also scooped up 20 ground balls and caused nine turnovers.
Across 31 career games, Barry has recorded 31 goals, 14 assists, and 45 points on a .564 shooting percentage.
