BOSTON – Jennifer Barry, Sarah Mazza and Emma Pfaff of the Boston University women's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Honor Roll, the IWLCA announced Wednesday. BU was also named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2021-22 academic year.
Barry, a behavior and health major, started all 17 games for the Terriers and set BU's single season draw control record with 156. She is also the program's all-time leader in draw controls with 239. The midfielder from Lake Grove, N.Y., will return to field for her senior season in 2023.
Mazza made four appearances for the Terriers in the 2022 season and recorded her first collegiate ground ball at Harvard on April 26. The Vero Beach, Fla., native graduated with a degree in human physiology.
Pfaff set multiple career highs in her senior season, including six ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Four of her caused turnovers came in the March 2 contest against New Hampshire. The team captain majored in health science and graduated from BU this past spring.
To be eligible for IWLCA Honor Roll distinction, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. For a team to qualify as an Academic Honor Squad, they must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. BU was one of 326 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2021-22 academic year.
