Women’s Basketball Opens Road Trip At Northern Colorado

BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball program ignites a two-game road swing in the Centennial State, opening with a contest against Northern Colorado on Sunday (Nov. 26). Opening tip is set for 4 p.m. ET/2 p.m. local time.
BU (4-1) searches for its first road win in the 2023-24 campaign. The Terriers are playing in the state of Colorado for the first time in program history.
Northern Colorado (2-2) plays the second of three-consecutive home games on Sunday. The Bears will play a Division I team based in Massachusetts for the second time ever, and first since Northeastern in 2010.

- The Terriers improved to 4-0 at home this season thanks to a 64-53 victory over Le Moyne on Wednesday (Nov. 22).
- Though the Dolphins trimmed a 21-point lead to six at the end of the third quarter, BU set a season-high in points scored.
- Junior Alex Giannaros canned four three-pointers, including the 100th of her career, for a team-best 15 points.
- Senior Caitlin Weimar posted a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double.
- Freshman Audrey Ericksen drained a trio of threes for 11 points.
- Weimar enters the weekend tied for eighth in the country with three double-doubles, and 26th with 10.6 rebounds per game.

- As a whole, BU is allowing just 53.8 points per game, tops in the Patriot League and 44th in Division I. The Terriers have yet to allow 60 points in a game this year.
- BU last played in the Mountain Standard time zone in December of 2016, playing at No. 24 Arizona State plus Long Beach State in the ASU Classic at Tempe, Ariz.
- The Bears are 2-2 this year, most recently dropping a 67-60 contest to North Dakota State on Nov. 20.
- Northern Colorado's two wins this year have come against Hastings and Omaha.
- Leading scorer Delaynie Byrne is averaging 19.3 points per game while hitting over 52 percent of her triples, as Northern Colorado entered the weekend 24th in the country with a .390 three-point percentage.
- Seneca Hackley also averages double figures with 10.3 points per game.
- In the Big Sky preseason coaches and media polls, Northern Colorado was picked to finish sixth and ninth, respectively, after 13-18 overall a 5-13 in conference play to reach the Big Sky quarterfinals.
- Sunday is the first all-time meeting between BU and Northern Colorado.
- The Bears are the final of three programs the Terriers face for the first time. BU's previous games against Rider and Le Moyne were the others.
- BU has only played a Big Sky opponent once in program history. That was a 74-65 loss to Montana State in the Moran Realty Classic, hosted by DePaul in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 6, 2002.
- BU closes its time in the Centennial State with a date against Colorado, who enters the weekend as the No. 3 program in the country according to the Associated Press poll. Opening tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/6 p.m. MT.
