EASTON, Pa. - The Boston University women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-10 contest at Lafayette on Saturday afternoon at Fisher Stadium.

Sophomore Abby Cotraro and senior Jennifer Barry each recorded two goals and an assist for the Terriers, who move to 6-5 overall and 1-4 in Patriot League play.

Down 5-2 midway through the second quarter, the Terriers reeled off three straight goals to draw even with the Leopards. However, Lafayette responded with three tallies of its own to regain the lead for good.

Barry led a late comeback attempt, scoring all three of her points in the final seven minutes of play, but the Leopards hung on for the win.

Sophomores Matty Spaeth and Hannah Tillier each scored twice for the Terriers while junior Kendall Sims had a goal and an assist and sophomore Avery Jones found the back of the net once. Junior goalkeeper Reilly Agres turned in an 11-save performance.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter was slow with four total goals scored. The Leopards struck first at the 11:25 mark but the Terriers answered back with Spaeth's first of the game at 10:11.
Lafayette scored two additional goals before the end of the opening frame to lead 3-1.
BU cut Lafayette's lead to one with a goal from Sims to open scoring in the second quarter.
The Leopards then found themselves up 5-2 a few minutes later with 7:31 to go in the half.
Spaeth netted her second of the day with help from Sims to swing the momentum in BU's direction.
Cotraro scored her first of the day at the 5:11 mark and soon after helped Tillier find the back of the net to even the score at five all.
Lafayette answered with a goal of its own to close out the half leading 6-5.
The third quarter favored the home team as the Leopards outscored BU 3-1. Cotraro was the lone Terrier to score in the third after converting on a pass from sophomore Libby Carbo at the 5:54 mark in between Lafayette's second and third goals in the quarter.
The Leopards extended their lead to 10-6 to start the final stanza.
Barry netted her first of the game late in the fourth to close in 10-7, but the Leopards quickly made it 11-7 with a goal of their own.
Jones scored, unassisted, with 3:41 to go in the game for her first goal of the season.
Barry netted her 49th career goal with 2:02 remaining to close in on the Leopards' lead.
Lafayette scored once more with 1:11 remaining for its 12th and final goal of the game.
Barry found Tillier with 35 seconds to go as the Terriers scored and brought the final result to Lafayette 12, BU 10.

GAME NOTES

The Leopards and Terriers were even in shots on goal with 23 apiece.
Agres' 11 saves marks her second-best performance this season in net.
BU went 17-for-18 on the clear and Lafayette went 21-for-22.
The Terriers scooped up 19 ground balls for the second time this season.
