BOSTON – The Boston University women's lacrosse program was named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2022-23 academic year, as five Terriers earned spots on the organization's Academic Honor Roll.
Seniors Jennifer Barry and Teagan Lucchese were named to the Academic Honor Roll. Reilly Agres, Quinn Ferry, and Kendall Sims represented the junior class.
Barry, a Behavior and Health major, earns a spot on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the second-consecutive year. The program's all-time leader in draw controls, she set career-bests in 2023 with 26 goals and 21 assists for 47 points, while also causing 18 turnovers and controlling 139 draws. The Lake Grove, N.Y. native was an IWLCA Northeast Region Second Team, First Team All-Patriot League, and Academic All-Patriot League pick this year.
Lucchese, who majored in Hospitality Administration, played three games a season ago, including the Patriot League Quarterfinals against Navy. In two seasons on Commonwealth Ave., she notched seven goals and seven assists in 17 career matchups.
Agres had a career year in the cage en route to Second Team All-Patriot League honors in 2023. The Health Science major was a four-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, finishing the year with nine victories, 133 saves, and an 11.66 goals-against average. Each effort was a career-high.
Ferry also produced a career season on the defensive end. Majoring in Health Science as well as Business Administration and Management, she started all 18 games she appeared in, scooping up 20 ground balls and causing four turnovers. Ferry captured Patriot League Defender of the Week honors on April 11.
Sims, who majors in Business Administration and Management in addition to Hospitality Administration, played 12 games in 2023, starting 10 of them. She racked up a career-best 18 points on 12 goals and six assists, also collecting 12 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least an academic junior. To qualify as a Division I Academic Honor Squad, teams must post a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
