The Boston University field hockey team will continue a stretch of four straight road games when it begins Patriot League play against Holy Cross on Monday (Sept. 18).

This will also be the first Turnpike Trophy contest of the 2023-24 season. 

TERRIER TIDBITS

• BU enters Monday with a 2-3 record and is coming off a double-overtime victory at Vermont last Sunday (Sept. 10).
• The Terriers are 2-0 on the road this season. 
• Both of BU's wins this season have come in overtime.
• Sophomore Caroline O'Brien was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring a hat trick against Vermont. 
• O'Brien leads the Terriers with four goals this season. 
• Junior Payton Anderson also scored against Vermont for her second tally of the season. 
• BU finished first in the Patriot League last season with a 5-1 record. 

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS

• Holy Cross is also 2-3 on the season after a 3-2 loss to Long Island University last Sunday (Sept. 10).
• Katie Gudan and Maguire Sturgis lead Holy Cross with two goals each this season. 
• Brook Ross leads the Patriot League in saves per game (11.2) and is second in save percentage (.800). 
• The Crusaders finished sixth in the Patriot League last season with a record of 2-4. 

SERIES HISTORY

• Monday will mark the 30th matchup between the two programs.
• BU is 26-2-1 all-time against Holy Cross, including wins in the past 26 meetings.
• Last season, the Terriers posted a 3-0 home win over the Crusaders, including two goals from Rachel Borzymowski, to give head coach Sally Starr her 500th career victory.
• BU is 13-1-0 in road contests against Holy Cross.
