Monahan Receives Second Team All-Patriot League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Ellen Monahan of the Boston University women's lacrosse team was named a defender on the Second Team All-Patriot League, the league announced Monday.
Monahan capped off her BU career with a dominant defensive season. She collected 46 ground balls, caused 23 turnovers and corralled 56 draws to post season best numbers across all three categories. Additionally, she led the Terriers in ground balls and caused turnovers throughout the season. She finished with 95 career ground balls, 50 career caused turnovers and 107 career draw controls, surpassing the 100 mark in BU's Patriot League win over Colgate.
The Columbus, Ohio, native started in all 16 games for the Terriers marking the second season in a row that she started every game. She scored one goal in 2024 against then-No. 3 Boston College and logged one assist against Stonehill. Both occurrences were her first in the points column since the 2022 season.
This is Monahan's first Patriot League postseason honor.
