Schleicher Named Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach
July 24, 2024 | Women's Lacrosse
BOSTON – Hollie Schleicher, who led Boston College to the 2021 NCAA title, joins the Boston University women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach, head coach Lauren Morton announced Thursday.
"We are thrilled to welcome Hollie to our BU Lacrosse family," Morton said. "Hollie is a great young coach and was an impactful leader and player during her time at Boston College. Her hard work, passion, and knowledge will undoubtedly inspire our student athletes to achieve their highest potential both on and off the field."
Schleicher comes to BU after a stop at Cornell where she served as an assistant coach for the 2024 season. She helped the Big Red garner seven wins including Ivy League defeats of Dartmouth and Columbia.
"I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Boston University women's lacrosse family," Schleicher said. "I'm looking forward to working with this incredible staff, team and administration."
A two-time captain, Schleicher helped BC to three consecutive national title games in 2021, 2022 and 2023. She made 55 starts in 65 appearances for the Eagles and controlled 242 draws, scooped up 93 ground balls and caused 42 turnovers in her tenure.
The midfielder was a 2x Inside Lacrosse All-American, an IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, an IWLCA All-Northeast Region First Team member and a 2x All-ACC selection. She was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2021 for her performance in the postseason.
Schleicher graduated in with a bachelor's in communication, making the dean's honor roll three times and the ACC All-Academic team twice. Schleicher volunteered off the field with Team Impact, the BC Athletics Community Service Board and the BC Pen Pal Society.
