
Women’s Ice Hockey Picked Sixth in Hockey East Preseason Poll

BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team was selected sixth in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Monday.
BU received 52 points, five more than seventh-place Vermont and three behind fifth-place Providence. Defending champion UConn was picked to defend its title, receiving 88 points and eight first-place votes. Northeastern (81) and Boston College (73) rounded out the top three with Northeastern receiving two first-place vote. The bottom three were Maine (36), Merrimack (25) and Holy Cross (20).
Head coach Tara Watchorn keeps six of BU's top 10 goal scorers from the 2023-24 season in which the Terriers finished seventh in the league standings with a record of 12-14-1. BU welcomes eight newcomers this season, including five freshmen.
The Terriers begin the 2023-24 season on Oct. 1 when they host Merrimack.
