Field Hockey to Visit Brown on Sunday

The Boston University field hockey team will make its second trip to Providence of the young season when it visits Brown on Sunday (Sept. 8)

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is coming off a 5-2 home loss to No. 12 Michigan on Friday.
  • Senior Payton Anderson scored her first goal of the season off a penalty stroke and sophomore Olivia Hammer tallied her first collegiate goal to give the Terriers an early 2-1 lead over the Wolverines.
  • Graduate student Kate Thomason tied her career high with 12 saves against Michigan.
  • Anderson, junior Martu Coulo and sophomore Nicole Lauro were all named to the NFHCA Division I Watchlist.
  • Anderson and Coulo were named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
  • Anderson now has 58 career points on the strength of 25 goals. 
  • Junior Caroline O'Brien is the team's leading returner in both goals (9) and points (18).
  • BU was picked fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
  • The Terriers are in their 47th season at the varsity level. 
SCOUTING BROWN
  • The Bears opened their season on Friday with a 3-2 home loss to UMass Lowell as the visitors broke a 2-2 tie early in the fourth quarter.
  • Sophomore Mia Karine Myklebust and senior Katie McCallum provided the goals for the Bears on Friday.
  • Junior Lexi Pellegrino led Brown last year in both goals (8) and points (16).
  • Senior Imogen Govan was an All-Ivy First Team performer last season as a junior.
  • Sophomore Kylee Del Monte is in her second year as the team's primary goalkeeper after making 13 starts as a freshman
  • Brown went 6-10 in 2023 with a 1-6 Ivy record.
BU-BROWN SERIES HISTORY
  • Brown holds a slim 4-3-2 edge in the all-time series.
  • BU has won the last two meetings, including a 3-0 home triumph when the teams last faced off in 2007.
  • The teams have met just three times since 1987.
