The Boston University field hockey team returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 18) when it visits Maine for a non-conference game.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is coming off a 4-0 loss to Bucknell last Saturday but has won its past two road games.
- Senior Caroline O'Brien continues to shine offensively, leading all Patriot League players in points (26) and goals (10) while ranking tied for third in assists (6).
- Junior Nicole Lauro has set a career high in goals with five while freshman Molly Driscoll has added four goals and an assist.
- Junior Maggie Driscoll has five points on a goal and three assist and ranks tied for second among PL players in defensive saves with three.
- Seniors Maddie Hudson and Celia Nocivelli are serving as co-captains this year.
- Sally Starr is in her 45th season as head coach of the Terriers.
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
- Maine ended a six-game losing skid on Friday with a 6-1 home victory over Bryant in America East play.
- The Black Bears' other wins this season have come against New Haven, Stonehill and Quinnipiac.
- Juniors Eloise Plenty leads a balanced scoring attack with 14 points on five goals and four assists.
- Senior Zoe Furber (6-1--13), senior Olivia Geniti (5-2--12) and junior Saylor Kuefler (3-6--12) are right behind Plenty on the stat sheet.
- Graduate student Rozárie Mrázová has started nine of their 13 games in goals and sports a 2.06 goals-against average and a 2.06 goals-against average.
SERIES HISTORY VS. MAINE
- BU is 32-10 all-time against the Black Bears and has won the past three meetings, including a 2-1 home victory last season.
- Seven of the previous eight meetings have been decided by a single goal.
UP NEXT
- BU will return to conference play on Friday (Oct. 24) for its home finale against Lafayette.
