Pietersen named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – Junior Mari Pietersen of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, Hockey East announced Monday.
Pietersen made a combined 51 saves to keep BU unbeaten through the two games against Providence. Her 34 saves between the posts in BU's 4-1 win were her second-highest total of the season and the third-most in a single game in her collegiate career. In the shootout on Saturday, Pietersen stopped both attempts from the Friars to help the Terriers win the shootout, 2-0.
The Goodwood, Ont., native boasts a .905 save percentage which ranks ninth in Hockey East. She has the second-least goals against in the league with 16 and has 153 saves across six games.
Pietersen and the Terriers will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 2, when they travel to Holy Cross for a 7 p.m. tilt.
