
Giaquinto, Shanahan, Healey Receive Hockey East Weekly Awards

AMESBURY, Mass. – Graduate student Tamara Giaquinto, senior Callie Shanahan and junior Sydney Healey of the No. 11/13 Boston University women's ice hockey team were named the Hockey East defender, goaltender and player of the week, respectively, the league announced Monday.
Giaquinto scored BU's first goal in the Hockey East Championship to give the Terriers a lead for the first time in the postseason. She finished that game +1 and recorded four blocks. Against Boston College, Giaquinto blocked one shot in BU's semifinal win. She was named to the All-Tournament team for her postseason performance.
Shanahan stopped 25 shots in the title game to back BU to its first title in 10 years. The netminder also made 38 saves in the double overtime game against Boston College in the semifinals to help BU reach the title game. Shanahan was named the goaltender for the All-Tournament team.
Healey was named the Hockey East Tournament MVP after her overtime game-winner lifted BU to its sixth Hockey East title in program history. The junior leads BU in points (23) and goals (15). She was +3 against Boston College and +1 against Northeastern. Healey also made the All-Tournament team.
The Terriers will play in the regional semifinals on Thursday (March 13) against No. 9 Clarkson at LaBahn Arena in Madison, Wis. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. ET.
