
Terriers Pick Up 14-8 Road Win Over UNH

DURHAM, N.H. — Fueled by a hat trick from junior Leah Hodgins, the Boston University women's lacrosse team picked up a 14-8 win over the New Hampshire Wildcats in Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Terriers (5-3, 0-1 PL) found themselves down 2-0 to the Wildcats (2-5, 0-0 America East) in the first quarter, but used four unanswered goals to take the lead and then held it for the remainder of the contest.

- The Wildcats scored twice in the first five minutes.
- Junior Elle Stevenson kickstarted the BU offense with a goal at 10:14, weaving her way through the defense to finish the effort.
- Graduate student Kendall Sims was next, tying the game while up a player with 9:32 left to play in the quarter.
- Junior Reilly Walsh scored the ultimate winner with 9:06 left in the first quarter.
- Sophomore Tessa Geddes got her 16th of the year and first of the game to cap the Terriers' 4-goal streak.
- After UNH scored its third goal of the game, Geddes got her second with 2:28 left in the first to take a 5-3 lead into the second quarter.
- The Wildcats scored 1:05 into the quarter, but then sophomore Izabella Amonte took a pass from senior Hannah Tillier and scored to extend the lead back to two goals.
- Both teams would trade goals again in the second quarter, as the Wildcats scored with 6:59 left before Sims found the back of the net on a player-up opportunity with 5:19 left, giving BU a 7-5 lead at the half.
- New Hampshire once again scored the first goal of the quarter in the third, but then BU unleased six straight goals to open the game up.
- Junior Jayne Feeney got her 11th of the year with 12:24 left in the third, followed by Amonte's second of the game and 17th of the year at 8:00.
- Hodgins scored her first of the game and first of the season with 47 seconds left in the third quarter, making it 10-6 Terriers.
- Hodgins went back-to-back with her second goal 2:19 into the fourth quarter.
- With 11:37 left in the game, Tillier scored her first goal of the game to make it 12-6 BU.
- Hodgins completed her hat trick off an assist from senior Avery Jones, giving BU its largest lead of the game, 13-6, with 3:10 left in the game.
- UNH scored twice more, and in between the Wildcat goals, Tillier added her second goal of the game with 38 seconds remaining.
- This is Hodgins' fourth career hat trick and her second career hat trick against UNH after scoring four goals a season ago.
- In net, sophomore Natalie Aiosa made 15 saves, marking a new career high by three saves. She finished with a .652 save percentage.
- The Wildcats outshot BU 32-30 and outdrew BU 14-13, but BU capitalized on its opportunities by shooting .467 compared to the Wildcats' .250.
- The Terriers converted on all four of their free positions, going 4-for-4.
- Amonte and Geddes continued their goal race, with Amonte still leading the team in goals with 19. Geddes trails her by one goal, scoring 18 so far this season.
- On top of her goals, Geddes also picked up three ground balls and earned five draw controls.
- Junior Siri Hodgins caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls to lead the defense.
- BU has tied its win total from 2024 with five.
- The Terriers have now won two straight matchups against the Wildcats.
- The Terriers have wrapped up their non-conference slate and will head home to take on Bucknell on Saturday, March 15.
- Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. and will be streaming live on ESPN+.
