Women’s Ice Hockey Garners 19 Hockey East All-Academic Honorees

AMESBURY, Mass. – The Boston University women's ice hockey team tied a program record with 19 student-athletes being named to the 2024-25 Hockey East All-Academic Team.
The total of 19 tied the previous record set last year. Student-athletes needed to achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two semesters they competed in during the 2023-24 season to qualify. This marks the 11th straight year that at least 10 Terriers earned a spot on the team. In each of the last 10 seasons, BU has earned at least 14 spots on the squad.
Graduate student Lindsay Bochna and seniors Ani FitzGerald, Liv Haag and Maggie Hanzel secured Distinguished Scholar status after earning a 3.0 GPA in each semester over the course of four seasons.
Graduate student Julia Shaunessy and seniors Christina Vote and Lilli Welcke all became three-time honorees while graduate student Tamara Giaquinto, seniors Emily McDonald, Kylie Roberts, Callie Shanahan, junior Maeve Kelly, sophomores Neely Nicholson and Mari Pietersen all became second-time honorees. Juniors Maeve Carey, Sydney Healey, freshmen Tessa Demain, Keira Healey and Lola Reid were all first-time honorees.
