Women’s Tennis Sweeps Bucknell, 7-0

WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (4-4, 2-0 PL) swept Bucknell (4-4, 0-1 PL) in a 7-0 outcome on Friday evening.
The Terriers won all three doubles matches, with junior Blanka DeMicheli and senior Rhea Rai winning at line two in a 6-2 decision first. Sophomore Gabriella Mikaul and junior Nancy Liu clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at the top of the lineup. Senior Emily Zhao and sophomore Madison Liu teamed at line three and won, 6-3.
In singles, N. Liu posted an efficient 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot to give BU its second point of the day. Mikaul finished next with a 6-3, 6-2 win at line one and M. Liu clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 4 spot. DeMicheli extended BU's lead to 5-0 with a 7-6 (5), 6-1 win at the No. 5 spot. Freshman Lauren Kettlewell's 7-5, 6-2 win at line six bolstered BU's lead to 6-0 before junior Ellie Gyuro secured the sweep with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) victory at line three.
The Terriers will be back on the courts on Sunday, March 1, when they face Brown. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
