Ricard Three-Peats as Patriot League Pitcher of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After posting a 3-0 record with a save in four starts, Boston University softball senior Kasey Ricard earned her third consecutive Patriot League Pitcher of the Week award, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The Littleton, Massachusetts, native increased her PL record total to 19 by first collecting a save against Providence and then earning three wins during the series sweep at Colgate. She finished with 18 strikeouts recorded over 22.2 innings of work, while holding opponents to a .169 batting average.
Ricard started off holding the Friars to two runs over the first 4.2 innings of work and then pitching a quick seventh to claim her second save of the season in the 8-7 come-from-behind win. She then totaled six strikeouts in a 5-3 victory at Colgate and claimed her program-best sixth career no-hitter in the 10-0 (5) victory.
In the final matchup against the Raiders, she recorded four strikeouts without a walk to complete the series sweep, 13-3 (5).
Tying the PL record for most Pitcher of the Week awards in a single season at six total, Ricard and her teammates will next visit Harvard on Tuesday (March 14) for a 4 p.m. first pitch.
