Johnson, Lauro Collect Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore Lucy Johnson and senior Nicole Lauro have been named the Patriot League Forward and Midfielder of the Week, respectively, after their impressive performances in a road win at Bucknell, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Johnson tied BU's single-game goals record with four of the team's seven tallies in a 7-2 triumph over the Bison in the Terriers' Patriot League opener on Saturday. The sophomore scored off a rebound for the final goal of the opening half, giving the Terriers a 4-0 lead. She then scored all three of BU's second-half goals, all coming in the final quarter, to become just the fifth Terrier in program history to score four goals in a game and the first since 1996.Â
Lauro set the tone early against the Bison, scoring the game's first goal in the fifth minute with a blast from the right side before assisting on a goal by sophomore Molly Driscoll just 52 seconds later. She helped the Terriers control the possession game and limit scoring chances as the Bison were only able to muster five shots on goal.
This is Johnson's second Forward of the Week honor this season while Lauro also earned Midfielder of the Week once last season.
