During her tenure, the Engineers combined for 59 wins, won their first NEMAC Championship and advanced to the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship in Oklahoma City. In her time at MIT, Morrissey helped improve the team’s fielding percentage from .940% to .969%, placing them 16th nationally. Morrissey’s coaching career began at her alma-mater, Georgia State University, where she served as a student assistant. A 2013 graduate, Morrissey walked onto the team as a transfer sophomore and went onto play in over 150 games at shortstop, second base and designated player. As a career .302 hitter in the leadoff role and All-CAA Second Team honoree, she helped lead the Panthers to their first CAA Championship and NCAA Regional berth in 2011. While at Georgia State, Morrissey also earned academic recognition on the Dean’s List and AD’s Honor Roll every semester.
