Softball Team Sweeps Rhode Island

BOSTON - Robyn King pitched a one-hitter in the first game, and followed up with a two-hit, 11-strikeout effort in the nightcap to lead Boston University to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Rhode Island.
In the first game, Courtney Herr had a two-run single to highlight a three-run third inning and Kenya Palmer blasted a two-run double in the fourth to lead the Terriers to an 8-0 "mercy-rule" victory. King allowed just one hit, while striking out six and walking four.
In the nightcap, Kerry Herr's sixth-inning RBI triple snapped a 1-1 tie. The Terriers then proceeded to score three more runs to prevail, 5-1. Robin Davies' first-inning RBI triple accounted for the Rams' lone run.
