Softball Splits With Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Boston University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader against Providence. The Terriers lost the opener, 4-3, in 10 innings, snapping their seven-game winning streak. In the nightcap, B.U. prevailed, 2-0, in a game called after six innings because of darkness.
In the opener, PC's Kerri Jacket hit an RBI double in the bottom of the 10th to push across the winning run. Robyn King took the loss, allowing seven hits.
In the nightcap, the Terriers scored twice in the fifth inning after back-to-back singles by Amy Parker and Nili Schnairsohn. Mary Colleran pitched a two-hitter to improve her record to 4-3.
B.U. returns to action on Thursday, April 1 with a doubleheader against Iona. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
