King Leads Boston University Softball Past Harvard, 5-0

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Robyn King (Ashby, MA) pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead the Boston University softball team to a 5-0 shutout of Harvard in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader at Soldiers Field.
The second game was canceled due to the cold weather.
The victory was the Terriers' 20th of the season, marking the ninth straight season the program has reached 20 wins.
Boston University (20-9) opened the scoring in the first inning as Kerry Herr (New Windsor, NY) opened the contest with a double and came home on sister Courtney's RBI groundout. The Terriers added one run in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Amy Parker (Newburgh, NY).
B.U. added three more runs in the top of the seventh as Parker and Courtney Herr each had RBI singles.
King struck out five for her 13th victory of the season.
Offensively, Kerry Herr went 3-for-4 with two doubles, while Parker (2-for-2, 2 RBI) and Courtney Herr (2-for-4, 3 RBI) combined to drive in all five Terrier runs. Betsy Gonski (Northampton, MA) added two hits and two runs scored.
