Softball Sweeps Dartmouth, 2-1 and 9-2

HANOVER, N.H. -- The Boston University softball team improved to 25-10 with a doubleheader sweep of Dartmouth, 2-1 and 9-2, at Sachem Field.
In the first game, Robyn King (Ashby, MA) allowed just three hits and struck out nine to improve to 16-5 on the season. It was King's eighth straight win. King helped her cause at the plate, stroking two hits, including a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth.
In the nightcap, Kerry Herr (New Windsor, NY) went 3-for-5 with a home run, and Aryn Rangel (Greeley, CO) and Ingrid Anderson (Redmond, WA) each had three hits in a 9-2 win. The Terriers, who had a season-high 17 hits, scored eight runs in the top of the fifth to break the game open.
King (2-for-3, HR) and Janine Valente (Cotuit, MA) each drove in two runs for the Terriers. Mary Colleran (Valencia, CA) earned the win, limiting the Big Green to just four hits, while striking out seven. She is now 9-5 on the season.
B.U. returns to action on Saturday, April 24 when it travels to Orono, ME to face the University of Maine at 11 a.m.
