King was dominating on the mound in 1999, recording an 18-7 record with a 1.33 earned run average. King's 18 wins were the third-highest among all America East pitchers and the fifth-best season total in B.U. softball history. Her ERA ranked fourth in America East. King also struck out 188 batters, second in the conference, and opponents hit just .181 off her.
King struck out 10 or more batters on six occasions, including a season-high 12 in a three-hit shutout of Hartford on May 2. King also threw three one-hitters in 1999 - vs. Rhode Island on March 23, vs. Iona on April 1, and Vermont on April 30.
In conference play, King was even more impressive, winning five of her seven decisions and recording a minuscule 0.89 ERA. In 55 innings, King struck out 59 while walking just 19. King earned America East Pitcher of the Week three times during the season.
In just two collegiate seasons, King has totaled a 38-20 record with a 1.68 earned run average. Her 38 victories rank her fourth on the B.U. career list. She has struck out 332 batters in 320.1 innings of work.
