Softball Downs Holy Cross, 9-0

Junior second baseman Kerry Herr (New Windsor, NY), senior centerfielder Nili Schnairsohn (Stoughton, MA), and senior first baseman Amy Parker (Newburgh, NY) had two hits apiece as the Terrier softball team capitalized on seven Holy Cross errors, rolling to a 9-0 victory over the Crusaders at Freshman Field in Worcester, MA on April 13.
B.U. did not waste any time getting on the scoreboard, as it tallied two runs in the game's first inning, and followed with two more in the third. The Terriers scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, before finishing with three in the seventh.
Senior pitcher Mary Colleran (Valencia, CA), freshman righthander Robyn Horrick (Irvine, CA), and junior fireballer Robyn King (Ashby, MA) combined to allow only two Crusader hits in the Terrier victory. Colleran earned her fifth win of the season after pitching two innings with three strikeouts. Horrick tossed two innings of no-hit ball, while King pitched the final three innings, striking out seven Holy Cross batters.
The Terriers, winners of their last 14 games, improved to 23-12 for the 2000 season, while Holy Cross dropped to 4-22-1.
B.U. returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, for an America East four-game series at the University of Maine. The first pitch is at 12 noon.
