Softball Ranked No. 5 in Northeast Region

The Terrier softball team, currently with a record of 23-12 overall and a 10-2 mark in America East play, is ranked No. 5 in the Northeast Region in the latest NCAA Division I softball regional rankings, conducted by the NCAA Division I Softball Committee, announced on April 13.
B.U. moved up two places in the latest poll, as it was slotted at No. 7 in the March 30 rankings. The Terriers are behind No. 1 Notre Dame with a 29-9 record, No. 2 Connecticut (23-10), who the Terriers play on Tuesday, April 18, No. 3, America East-rival, Hofstra (21-14), and No. 4 Virginia Tech (26-15).
Head coach Deb Solfaro's squad has won its last 14 games, one shy of tying the team record of 15 set from April 9-25, 1993. The Terriers square off in an America East four-game series at the University of Maine on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16 at 12 noon.
