Boston University Softball Game at Connecticut Cancelled

Rain prevents two of the top-five ranked teams in the region from squaring off
BOSTON, MA -- April 18th's scheduled softball game between Boston University and the University of Connecticut has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Both head coaches could not come to an agreement on a make-up date due to conflicting conference schedules and the time of the season.
The Terriers (26-13, 13-3) are now off until Friday, April 21st , and Saturday, April 22nd when they host Hofstra (26-17, 13-3) in a doubleheader between the two top teams in America East at Malvern Field beginning at 2 p.m.
The pair of weekend doubleheaders will pit this week's America East Pitcher of the Week, Alicia Smith of Hofstra, and America East Player of the Week, B.U.'s Robyn King.
Smith hit .455 (10-for-22) with three doubles, two triples and four RBI and also had an 0.88 ERA in four games. Smith is batting .556 in conference games and is 8-1 with an 0.95 ERA.
King, who was last week's Player of the Week, and Pitcher of the Week the week before, was 3-0 in four appearances, allowing eight hits in 24 innings while striking out 43 with just four walks. King allowed five hits and struck out 26 in two wins at Maine. King is batting .383 in conference games, and is 6-1 on the mound with 86 strikeouts and a 0.42 ERA in America East matchups.
