Women's Tennis Finishes 2-1 at ECAC's

The Terrier women's tennis team bounced back from a first-round loss to Columbia to defeat both Army and Syracuse at the ECAC Championship Tournament last weekend (Oct. 12-13) in Princeton, New Jersey.
The fifth-seeded Terriers fell to unseeded Columbia 6-1, placing them in the consolation bracket for the remainder of the tournament. Sophomore Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) was the only Terrier to win a match against Columbia, defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-2.
B.U. bounced back from the loss with a 7-0 win over Army. The Terriers won every match en route to the victory. The singles winners were senior Christina Causway (Wilson, NC) at number one, Dynof at number two, sophomore Elena deMendoza (Madrid, Spain) at number three, freshman Silva Guglielmi (Rome, Italy) at number four, junior Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) at number five, and sophomore Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain) at number six. Then, in the doubles matches, Causway and Dynof won at number one, deMendoza and sophomore Hannah Bartell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) won at number two, and Marcu and Guglielmi teamed up at number three.
The Terriers closed out their tournament appearance with a 5-2 win over Syracuse, winning five out of six singles matches. Causway led the Terriers at the number one spot, beating Daniela Kaluskova, 6-2, 6-3. Dynof, who did not lose a singles match all weekend, won a tough three-set match at number two 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. deMendoza and Elisa Glas, along Guglielmi each won their matches. The doubles team of Causway and Dynof were successful in the number one spot, winning 8-3. However, the doubles point went to Syracuse with wins at number two and three.
Harvard defeated the University of Pennsylvania 7-0 to win the tournament championship.
