Women Open Spring At Harvard Invitational

Four Terrier women's tennis players led B.U. at the Harvard Invitational, February 2-4 as the spring season officially got underway.
Freshmen Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) and Elena deMendoza (Madrid, Spain) each finished 3-0 in singles, while senior Hsiao Ning Ham (Jersey City, NJ) and sophomore Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) were undefeated in doubles.
Dynof scored 6-0, 6-3 against Harvard, 6-4, 6-1 against Dartmouth, and 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 against Brown to capture her wins at number thr4ee singles. DeMendoza followed suit at number four with scores of 6-4, 6-3 to win over Harvard, 6-4, 6-1 to beat Dartmouth, and 6-3, 6-2 to top off Brown. Their winning ways continued as the two joined forces at number doubles against Dartmouth and Brown with 8-4 and 8-5 wins.
Ham and Marcu's undefeated streak at number three doubles included 8-5, 8-3, and 8-6 wins over Harvard, Dartmouth, and Brown, respectively. Ham also took home wins versus Dartmouth at number four doubles with sophomore teammate Andrea Nickel (Vancouver, BC), 9-7, and number seven singles, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0. Marcu added a 6-1, 6-4 win over Brown at number five singles.
After losing a tough three-set match at number one singles against Harvard, 6-4, 1-6, 0-1, junior Christina Causway (Wilson, NC) came back to beat Dartmouth and Brown with scores of 7-6, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively. At number one doubles, Causway and senior Carrie Rose (Bloomfield Hills, MI) overcame Brown, 9-7. Rose narrowly defeated Brown at number two singles, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7, for her second win of the day.
Also adding to the numerous Terrier victories was freshman Hannah Bartell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA), who beat Dartmouth at number six singles, 6-2, 6-1.
After a rough start against Harvard, the team turned things around by defeating Dartmouth and Brown.
